About Your Private Guide

Shiho YAMAMICHI

Senior Coach (Trust Coaching School, Japan) & bilingual local guide in Kawagoe

I’m from Iwaki City, Fukushima. In 2018, I moved to Kawagoe—a city I had no previous ties to—due to my husband’s transfer. More than seven years on, I’m still completely charmed by this town. From deep history to the latest trends, Kawagoe never gets old. As a local resident, I love sharing its appeal from the inside.

Since 2017 I’ve been a Trust Coaching School (TCS) certified coach, having delivered coaching to 100+ clients. My current goal is to bring this Japan-born approach to coaching to people around the world in English—so more people can feel life become a little lighter by understanding Japanese ways of thinking. I’ll keep supporting better self-dialogue and stronger self-trust in both Japanese and English.

My interest in Japanese culture runs deep. I studied Urasenke tea ceremony at university and resumed formal training in 2020. I’m captivated by the way tea ceremony hones aesthetic sensitivity in every moment; I practice daily toward a beautiful, relaxed temae. I also began Shotokan karate three years ago—still a purple belt—and I enjoy the practice as a way to meet my body with attention, a mindset that connects closely with coaching.

For me, coaching, tea ceremony, and karate all share the beauty of ma—intentional space. That sensibility is a core axis of my life and the way I move forward.

I’m also a mother of a 13-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter; life is lively and full. I love beer and sake. Since 2025, I’ve also joined the total arrangements team of a high-end inbound travel company, helping international travelers who want to experience Japanese culture in depth.

As a Japanese person, I’m grateful whenever someone takes an interest in Japan. I hope more people can also meet its inner, spiritual perspective—and making Trust Coaching available in English is my life’s work.
